LADY GODIVA AND CHOCO GRIPS FUND
Lots of gymnasts kept asking us for a TOUGH grip.
We started the search for the leather. We found a chocolate brown leather that is TOUGH. With the new leather we had a grip that was TOUGH but we weren't sure what to call these grips.
LADY GODIVA seemed perfect for the UNEVEN BAR grips. But - what to call the RING and HIGH BAR grips???
We have 18 rescue dogs and one of them was the same beautiful chocolate color and a TOUGH guy - named Choco (latte). The PERFECT NAME.
HISTORY OF CHOCOLATTE
A little history of Choco. Patty found him, as a puppy, living with his mother and sister under a junk yard truck. They were almost dead from hunger and poor health. Winter was coming and they had no place to go so they became part of our tribe of abandoned and abused dogs.
Taking care of this many dogs as well as supporting the AARF (Atlanta Animal Rescue Friends) as well as other local programs is very expensive so we decided to make CHOCO our poster dog for the new TOUGH grip and to figure a percentage of each LADY GODIVA and CHOCO grip as a contribution to the support of these homeless dogs (and 10 cats). Twelve of our dogs are looking for homes (including Choco) but times are tough and folks are struggling to keep a roof over their head and food on the table. An extra mouth to feed is not possible.
We have found the gymnastics community to be very supportive of causes for people or animals.
SO THE CHOCO FUND HAS BIG BARKING BEGINNING.
